Bu program sende ne görüyor?

A lottery reach whose value is very high if the thesis path materializes. The work/channel narrative is distinctive, but 3.21 and no academic research put the application near the personalized floor. Lead with a concrete systems research direction and evidence that technical communication rests on deep engineering work; cultivate at least one academic-style recommendation.

Admission criteria

  • Undergraduate CS or related preparation; otherwise at least four foundational CS and two mathematics courses.
  • The thesis pathway requires a CS faculty adviser before selection, 9 points of COMS E6902, a proposal, three-member committee and defense.
  • A publication-quality thesis is deposited as a department technical report; all 30 points must normally fit the three-semester international-student timeline.
  • Extreme selectivity
  • NYC cash need
  • Faculty adviser must be found before thesis-path selection

Sınavlar ve belgeler

  • GRE: not-announced. The CS FAQ defers to the current Columbia Engineering cycle requirements; verify Fall 2027 rather than using an older waiver.
  • Approved English test unless Columbia Engineering grants an exemption.
  • Columbia Engineering's current English-test and exemption rules apply to international applicants.

Watchouts

  • Admission to CSMS does not guarantee entry to the thesis pathway or a willing adviser.
  • F-1/J-1 thesis students are still expected to finish within three semesters, compressing adviser search and research.
  • Extreme selectivity
  • NYC cash need
  • Faculty adviser must be found before thesis-path selection
  • Terminal MS students should assume self-funding; a thesis adviser does not imply an RA award.
